History: Two local citizens, Dora Seelinger and Mary Ault Groves, established the Summersville Public Library in 1962 in a temporary building. Two years later, the library moved to the Summersville Municipal Building. Finally, in 1992, after obtaining federal and state grants and with local money raised by community and civic organizations, the library moved into its new permanent home on Webster Road. The Summersville Public Library serves nearly 9,000 residents in Nicholas County.
