History: The Paden City Public Library opened in its original location on Main Street in 1946. Four years later, the library inherited the old Tyler County Grade School as its new home, and in 1975 that building was replaced with a new Instant Library facility. An addition was added four years later. The Paden City Public Library now serves more than 4,700 residents in Wetzel and Tyler counties.
