History: Part of the Kanawha County Library system, the Dunbar Branch Library was established as a branch library in 1977. Consisting of the main library in Charleston and branch locations in St. Albans, Glasgow, Clendenin, Cross Lanes, Dunbar, Elk Valley, Sissonville, Marmet and Riverside, the system is the largest in the state and now serves over 181,000 residents.
