History: The Mingo County Public Library opened in 1963 in downtown Delbarton. Four years later, the library moved to its present location, and soon began mobile library service to Matewan and Gilbert. Today, branch libraries are located in those two cities, as well as Kermit. The library serves nearly 24,000 residents in Mingo County.
