History: Point Pleasant’s first public library dates to the early years of the 20th century. In 1942, the first permanent library was established in a former school house building near the old city courthouse. Since then, a new library was built and opened in Point Pleasant in 1978, and branches are located in Mason and New Haven. The Mason County library system provides services for more than 25,000 residents.
