WVLC subscribes to a number of databases and other e-resources to assist in research and educational needs.  

Library Science Professional Collection 

State Library Services maintains one of the largest library studies collections in the state.  Included in this collection are books, print journals, online databases and other materials.  The collection is available to librarians, library staffs, students and professional educators with a State Library Services library card and may be viewed on our Online Catalog​.  Interlibrary loan requests can be made from libraries around the state for those that do not have a library card.

Federal Government Documents Depository

As a Federal Depository Library in West Virginia, the State Library is committed to providing free access to government information. It also services as the Clearinghouse for state documents. We are committed to providing free public access to government information to all citizens of West Virginia.

The Government Document collection is located on the third floor of the library.
