​​One of the most important functions of a public library is to provide a safe, learning environment for school children during the summer months.  Summer reading programs are at the forefront of this, and encourage school children to read, improve academic achievement, and become interested in the library and in books. In the June episode of Libraries Today, we take a look at the summer reading program at the South Charleston Public Library and discuss the importance of summer reading for kids all across West Virginia.
